Shefali Jariwala of ‘Kaanta Laga’ fame passes away, cause of death yet to be revealed: Report
Pity the sudden demise of Shefali Jariwala, who is forever entrenched in public memory as the incandescent face behind the iconic Kaanta Laga remix, whose report reached us; the cause of death is still unclear.
With her effectiveness in the remix of the 1972 Samadhi, she ushered in a cultural wave whose resonance reached every corner of this country. This unmistakable fame soon carried her onto celluloid, which was also under the helm of director David Dhawan, who signed her for Mujhse Shaadi Karogi just two years down the line.
Apart from her beautiful screen presence, Shefali graced the reality TV scene. She lit up the dance floors of Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye 7 along with her husband, Parag Tyagi. In 2019, she added further colors to her multifaceted public image by entering the infamous Bigg Boss house in Season 13.
However, her bright legacy is now being cast in shadow by a bleak update from veteran journalist Vickey Lalwani, who, with morbid seriousness, stated:
“Shefali Jariwala, the Kaanta Laga girl, is no more. The reason of her death is not known yet to this journalist, but I can confirm that she was brought dead to Bellevue Mult speciality hospital (opposite Star Bazaar Andheri) about 45 minutes prior to this post.”
Lalwani continues with this information: Her husband and three other individuals brought Shefali to the facility. The reception staff confirmed that she was dead on arrival.
"Shefali had expired before she was brought in. Her husband and a few others accompanied the body," the staff reportedly stated.
Hospital protocol was initiated with the retaining of communication with the Resident Medical Officer, who stated he would pass on the matter to Dr. Vijay Lulla, who specializes in cardiology. Dr. Lulla did not divulge any particulars, stating—
“I cannot divulge any details regarding any patient.”
Next came Dr. Sushant from the same hospital, who confirmed the sad news and stated the body was on its way to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem.
Besides all the accolades she garnered for being in the limelight, Shefali wore her heart out talking about the tough road to adoption, which often defies the emotion and technicality of such processes.
“The road to adoption is not an easy one. There are a lot of laws in place. Authorities check every aspect from the stability of a couple’s marriage to their health. It is also a lot of paperwork and counselling,” she had shared.
In a moment shrouded in tender vulnerability and strength, she confessed:
“It (adoption) is a very brave decision, especially in the culture we belong to. My family is still in the process of being okay. I know they’ll be supportive.”
How well her words now echo with weighty gloom, lucidly etching a fitting epitaph for a woman who danced into stardom but grappled with life's deepest complexities far away from the klieg lights.
Her abrupt physical exile leaves an unbearable silence-too loud, an unwritten dirge, and a legacy of rhythm and memory.
